Great experience through and through. Starting with the rustic and cozy ambience, through the very friendly and humorous staff to the very tasty food and wine, everything was great. Attention was also paid to special requests. Would definitely reserve in advance. We'll definitely come back on our next visit to Heidelberg!
MoreHands down my favorite spot during my two week stay at Heidelberg. It is a small location where you are guaranteed to sit with people that you do not know. Very friendly at atmosphere and even better food! Great old interior and family-style seating. Lots f fun and great food. Try it. recommend
MoreThe atmosphere at Schnitzelbank is wonderfully unique. The service staff is extremely nice, light-hearted. And most important, the food! THE FOOD is outstanding, especially the Schnitzel called "LONELY NIGHTS", the best thing ever for garlic lovers :-) (this review comes from a a Heidelberg local)
MoreThey have very good Schnitzel there. I have been there with many of my friends and everyone has liked it!! Really tasty food :)
MoreThis place was super cool. Nice staff, good food, cold beer, and technically a wine kitchen but with the feel of cozy bar. The gorgonzola schnitzel is highly recommended.
MoreLovely places with friendly crews. You donāt need to wait long to get your food. A reservation is usually required for dinner.
MoreHuge wine pour. Like 8+ oz. Woah. Good food too
Great location and very friendly staff. We were happy to get a table at short notice. The schnitzel were world class! Unfortunately the side dishes were cold. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars.
MoreStill as good. Very welcoming boss. A treat I recommend. Copious. Count 20 ā¬ per person, drink included. But it's definitely worth it
MoreAlways amazing!
The atmosphere of the restaurant is very quaint and cozy. We had very tasty schnitzel with fried potatoes. Everyone tasted good. The waiters were super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back ;-)
MoreThe schnitzel was ok. The fried potatoes were partly still raw, although from boiled potatoes and unfortunately cold. It could have been a bit more flavorful. Otherwise, nice staff, good drinks and the reservation went well.
MoreVery cozy, rustic parlor, great food and a super friendly team. Highly Recommended
MoreAmbience, service, taste all great ... but ... if you knock the schnitzel to death that they are as thin as a euro coin, I find it very sad. You should also recognize and taste that a schnitzel is made of meat. A shame ..... I've tried a lot of schnitzel, but that was by far the thinnest ..... Otherwise everything was really great
MoreAMAZING meal! Small quaint restaurant with shared seating. German and English menus available. Waiters speak English very well.
MoreGREAT restaurant to do! The welcome is very warm, in a rather rustic tavern-like place full of charm. The typical regional cuisine is excellent, plentiful and very tasty. The servers are very attentive during the entire meal.
MoreRustic German restaurant located in the centre of town, just off the main shopping high street. Itās branded as Schnitzel restaurant however there are other German specialities as well. Menus are available in English if required. We went for the house Schnitzel and the half and half - liver dumpling and sausage. The food was really good and sauerkraut was tasty and fresh. The service was attentive and friendly throughout our dining experience. The restaurant is rustic and dimly lit so watch your head and where youāre walking! Would definitely recommend if youāre looking for a friendly and romantic German restaurant in the heart of town. This place is busy and has small covers so reservations are definitely recommended. Whilst we were eating they had to unfortunately turn away a lot of walk-ins. Hope to return to again one day soon.
MoreIt was delicious. The salad that is included with the main dish was big but it was super good, the dressing super tasty. And the main dish, pork schnitzel with mushorom sauce, was more than good. The service was really good as well, guys were nice/kind. I was lucky to get there before 7pm and get a table. After that was too crowded. Definitely, a place to come back.
MoreFamous schintzel restaurant in Heidelberg and definitely worth it! The place is really nice and decorated with a very cool vibe (tables are old sturdy wooden doors). Food was AMAZING, I tried the cordon blue and the kƤsspƤtzle and both were perfect. Portions are big so I recommend sharing a plate and if you still have room for more you can order dessert (I was too full to try them but I judging by the main dishes I definitely trust them for dessert). Staff was super friendly also, so a place you MUST visit in Heidelberg.
MoreGreat hosts, the make you feel at home. Also great food. If you go early you have a table. At 18.30 the was already a line at the front door
MoreVery tasty food and good wine! You get large portions and you will definitely be full. Cool ambience, high feel-good factor - especially because the staff is super friendly. A MUST when visiting Heidelberg. But make a reservation in advance, it is a very popular restaurant!
MoreRomantic atmosphere, nice service, delicious schnitzel with salad, wine on tap, what else do you need? I ordered kind of house, came with pasta, champion and salad. Very many, but it makes me very happy. The restaurant is still getting clear film between tables and disinfectant for customers.
MoreEvery schnitzel lover's heart beats faster here. Crunchy and juicy just as they should be. A nice rustic restaurant. Always worth a visit. The hosts are always warm, too, so that you feel that you are in good hands and looked after.
MoreSuper tasty and great restaurant! Highly recommended for a visit to Heidelberg, with typical dishes of the region. Waiters are very very nice too. All in all top location
MoreThis is a tourist dream, the schnitzel is top notch, the sides are very traditional and the salads are classic German style salads, super tasty The people working there are so friendly and they speak English The place is small so make sure to book a table if you plan on going
MoreSuper cool service and super friendly! Very rustic decor, you felt really homely there. The food was delicious too! We had the cordon bleu with gorgonzola and fried potatoes. That is only to be recommended. If you're in the mood for schnitzel, be sure to go here. Absolute recommendation !!
MoreOne can only warmly recommend this wine bar. The two guys who served us are super friendly and nice. The food was very tasty. You get a very decent portion for your money and the place is just great, great, quaint. Lucky we were able to get a table without a reservation. It is better to reserve as a precaution.
MoreGreat restaurant, schnitzels were perfect. Atmosphere brilliant. We did not make a reservation so we had to wait for a few minutes.
More1.Best schnitzel in Town ! 2. Probably the best schnitzel that I have eaten in this country.
MoreJust wow! As a guest, you can experience a culinary experience here! The waitress raced through the store, I have never experienced anything like that. It's unbelievable how he quit the shop and managed everything. Despite this, as a customer, you didn't get the feeling that the table you were sitting at had to be vacated quickly. The food was excellent.
MoreA delicious and friendly restaurant where I ate comfortably! If it's your first time to try Schnitzel without fries and the meat is a little salty, it's great to eat it with potatoes and salad! The taste is good.
MoreWe wanted to reserve a table outside by phone but were told that this was not possible. When we passed the restaurant on good luck, there was actually a table outside. When we waited the waitress and served (you would think that it was their job) we were told the table was reserved. Funny because it's actually not possible.
MoreBest schnitzel ever.
A hidden gem, Iām still dreaming of the schnitzel and schorle... The service was great, too. Hope I can come back someday.
MoreA small hole in the wall restaurant that offers a great deal of history. The staff are very kind and take their time to explain wine and meal offerings. Worked extra hard to accommodate us for a late evening dinner while they were at capacity. The food was delicious and portions are a great value.
MoreSuper nice and fast service, very good home-style food, with which everyone should be full. Only the furniture could be renewed. Reservation is strongly recommended, even during the week! Would go back anytime.
MoreGreat Schnitzels???Keep going guys. It was amazing, restaurant was old and has something special. Meals are pretty big and very tasty They are kind of masters for the schnitzel ??? Staff are really great and kind, so I will advise boss to reward them with some raise as they constantly made the atmosphere live and funny. I will strongly recommend this restaurant. It was little hard to make a nice photo as the lights were not that good, but believe me it is really tasty. ????
MoreEverything what a tired wanderer after a day of hiking could hope for. Recommended.
MoreSuper nice waitress who found another place for us. Food super delicious and more than enough, so you definitely don't have to go hungry from the shop ... we felt very comfortable and leave greetings from Augsburg!
MoreGreat food and great service!
Despite the fact that there was only 3 people in the restaurant, no tables were free for the next 50 minutes. We left so have no idea of the food
MoreThe (Bavarian) wife and I agree: best schnitzel we've ever had in Germany!
the schnitzel
This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend and I will certainly recommend it to anyone who asks me where to eat. We took the schnitzel in vienerart (breaded meat) and a cordon Bleu (with gorgonzola) and we also spotted the strudel ... The portions are abundant and for the strudel there was no more space. Efficient, fast and super friendly service (they also speak English). Reservations required as the venue is small.
MoreThe best German fare with great service and a lot of character and history behind the place. This is a true hidden gem, opens for dinner time T 5 PM, but open till midnight. Highly recommend to get there early, else you will need to wait. Seating is communal, so you get to meet a lot of wonderful patrons. Owners and staff are super friendly and speak fluent English, no worries! Beer or wine :) simple bar!
MoreWe visited Schnitzelbank twice while visiting Heidelberg from the U.S. and it was by far the best place we ate at while in Germany! Fantastic salads, wine, and of course....schnitzel! Also, the service was excellent, our server was so fun and outgoing. Thank you for making our trip to Heidelberg so delicious!
